Fergus Truck Show - Donates to Local Groups

On October 25, 2007 the directors of the Fergus Truck Show presented cheques totaling $42,526.75 to 24 area groups who assisted at the July 26-29, 2007 event . The groups worked a combined total of 6075.25 hours. This brings the total raised by the Fergus Truck Show for community groups and Fergus Recreation to more than $599,463.61!!!

President Don Watson stated “Unbelievable!! This year was extraordinary! Every year we comment on the fact that we don’t think we can get any bigger or better than the past year but we always seem to do it! The 2007 attendance was just over 71,100 people. The ‘Show & Shine’ competition had 530 entries, the Truck Pull attracted 291 pullers, many of which were Americans, and there were 266Trade Show vendors which covered over 13 acres of actual site space. The Show used all 62 acres the Centre Wellington Sportsplex had to offer as well as an additional 60 acres leased from area farmers for the truck pulls, show & shine, camping and spectator parking.

The groups assisting had a total of more than 1100+ volunteers who worked 6075.25 hours prior to, at, or following the Show. In addition, there were hundreds of individual non group volunteers working during the weekend event. The Fergus Truck Show - ‘The Leading Family Entertainment and Trucking Event in North America continued growth and success is the result of the dedication and support of so many people and companies.

The Fergus Truck Show is the largest annual event in Canada to promote Canadian only entertainers. This year 13 bands and artists provided more than 24 hours of entertainment including The Roadhammers, Aaron Pritchett and local bands Settlers Creek and Moonshine.

The 23rd Annual Fergus Truck Show will be held July 25, 26 & 27, 2008. More than an estimated 200 million dollars worth of equipment is expected to be displayed - approximately 700 trucks will participate in “Show & Shine” and in the “Truck Pulls”, “Exhibitor Avenues” will feature over 275exhibitors/vendors with something for everyone, 3 days of “Truck Pulls” and “Music in the Park”, a music festival, will feature performances by Canadian Country Music Recording Artists and Songwriters.
