Garden Tractor Class

There will be no entry fee to pull , but all Pullers & Pit Crew  must pay regular Gate Admission.
Regular Gate Admission allows entry to whole Show as well as the Saturday night  Pulling event.

Helmets & Wheelie Bars are mandatory in all garden tractor classes

General and Safety Rules for Garden Tractor Classes

It is the participants responsibility to familiarize themselves with the rules

  1. NO alcohol will be tolerated.
  2. All drivers must complete the entry form and sign.
  3. No drivers under the age of 16 without adult accompaniment and supervision.
  4. Minimum age of puller is 8 year.
  5. All pullers, helpers and any person in the staging/track area MUST sign the insurance waiver provided by the Fergus Truck Show.
  6. All garden tractors must have stationary wheelie-bars
  7. All garden tractors must have operating brakes
  8. All garden tractors must have rear fenders
  9. All drivers must wear a helmet, long pants, and closed in shoes (running shoes or leather shoes/work boots)
  10. Driver must be in control of his / her machine at all times
  11. All drivers must be with their machine and in line when it’s time for your class to pull or your machine will be removed from the line-up and you will not be allowed to pull.
  12. Weight limits listed for each class includes the weight of the driver, you cannot pull in a class if you do not meet the weight limit.
  13. Weights must be fastened to the garden tractor, any weights falling off the machine while pulling will result in a disqualification.
  14. No tire chains or studs in tires. Bar tires allowed if not cut.
  15. Driver must remain in the seat at all times and maintain full grip on the steering wheel during the pull.
  16. No smoking while pulling, no hot rodding on or off the track.
  17. Any part of the tractor going out of bounds or crossing the out of bounds line or puller red flagged for any reason will immediately stop the pull at that point.
  18. No helpers on the track.
  19. No passengers on any garden tractor on or off the track.
  20. If any puller, or spectator causes problems at a pull, they will be asked to leave, and not be allowed to return
  21. Officials have the right to stop and disqualify any tractor that is not being operated in a safe manner on or off the track.
  22. Track to be 200 feet in length

Shut down anytime during the first 40 feet will be allowed only 1 more attempt
Puller has 3 minutes to begin pulling once his tractor is called
First puller of every class is test hook

Stock Class of Garden Tractors

 

  1. All general and Safety rules for garden tractors apply.
  2. All tractors must have a safety device to prevent turnovers (ie Wheelie Bars). This device is to have wheels or skid plates. Wheels must be at least 1” wide and 4 “ around. Skid plates must be 3” x 3” at ground contact point. Wheels or Skid plates must be a minimum of 5” behind the rear tires and no more than 5” above the ground. Each Wheel or Skid plate must be able to support the weight of the tractor.
  3. RPMS not to exceed 3800.
  4. Governor must be hooked up and operational.
  5. Maximum hitch height 13”.
  6. Must pass weight and safety inspection.
  7. Engine and drive train to be original.
  8. No duals and/or chains on tires.
  9. All styles of rubber tires are acceptable.
  10. Each tractor may only be entered once in each class, maximum 2 classes per tractor.
  11. No Cepeck tires, no cut tires

Modified Garden Tractor Rules

  1. All general and safety rules apply.

Skid plates must be 3” x 3” at ground contact point. Wheels or Skid plates must be a minimum of 5” behind the rear tires and no more than 5” above the ground. Each Wheel or Skid plate must be able to support the weight of the tractor.
  3. Operator must wear face shield if exhaust is in front of face
  4. Maximum hitch height 13”
  5. All tractors must have an operating kill switch
  6. All tractors must have engine, transmission, chains, belt and all moving parts shielded to top and sides to pass safety inspection
  7. Any tractor with a fuel leak will not pass safety inspection
  8. All tractors must have operating/working brakes
